If you can learn
to get
out of your head,
and drop into
the space of
your heart,
you will find
solace on the up beat,
and mercy on the down.
It will begin
to teach a language
long forgot,
and invite you
to step away from
the shadows
on the wall of the cave;
for they are simply
pretty illusions,
that never really mattered
anyways.
It will take you up-
into the grace of sun,
so you can better see
what’s real,
and learn to walk
in the face of light.
And when you tell it:
It hurts.
It hurts.
It hurts.
It will always answer
with the truest of trues:
Love heals.
Love heals.
Love heals.
But what will heal that which love hurt?
Beautiful poem.
Thank you…. and while that may be a rhetorical question, I will give my best response. What heals? Your ability to love. That’s what heals the wound love leaves… or at least that is what I discovered for myself during a heartache that came from loving too much, too hard, too wrong. I realized that even though my love resulted in hurt, that I must have one gigantic heart to love as purely and deeply as I did… and I figured that anybody who could love that way deserved to cloak herself in a cape of love and wear it like a super power. Many choose fear over love, and never tap into this ability… if you have learned to choose love over fear? Love takes incredible courage and strength of spirit- let that be the balm that heals the wound. ❤
I just discovered your blog and really liked it. You mentioned you like hearts and so do I. My son who died sends me hearts everywhere. They are his sign and bring me much comfort. Hugs to you
That is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard… what a gift from him to you. Thank you for your kind words. Hugs back to you. ❤
