Nature is my friend
when nothing else is.

The hermit crabs sand-play
teases out a tired smile,
the ocean makes comforts sounds;
blue lullabies for miles.

The birds sing their hope-songs,
roosters crow with voices big,
the trees stand tall in vigilance
and say all is never as it seems.

They tell me no matter how lonely
this place, I’ll always find solace
in their strong embrace,
then return to the core of the
depths of true grace – –

And belong to the love that is me.
